The Phuket Island lies in the Andaman See on the western coast of southern Thailand. With a length of around 50 and a width of around 22 kilometer (approx. 30 by 13 miles), it is Thailand’s largest island. Phuket offers picturesque bays with white sand and turquoise water. The landscape is marked by rolling hills topped with rainforests and coco palms. On huge plantations there are orchards of rubber trees, pineapples, and bananas. Especially worthwhile to visit are the waterfalls, sandy beaches and bays.
