Sri Lanka's Wildlife Essentials - 8 days / 7 nights
This private tour proposes 8 days packed with panoramic and wildlife highlights. It will take you, from the southwest coast of Sri Lanka to the tropical forest of Sinharaja, to the national parks of Yala, Bundala, Udawalawe and Horton Plains, to the tea region of Nuwara Eliya and Colombo.
The main features of this tour are surely the fabulous National Parks where you will be able to see wild elephants, leopards and buffalos, the visit of a Tea Factory in Nuwara Eliya and finally dicsover the capital of Sri Lanka.
Day 1: Colombo / Galle
You will be met by your private chauffeur-guide upon your arrival at Colombo Bandaranayake International Airport.
You will leave for your hotel in Galle.
You will be able to participate to a cruise on the Balapitiya River and its channels. You will see the many little islands inhabited by fishermen specialized in shrimp fishing. You will be wowed by the splendid flora and fauna.
You will also be able to visit the Galle which was a very active spice counter. The fortress, the ramparts, the harbor, the church and the colonial houses are very interesting. Galle is a Unesco World Heritage Site.

Day 2: Galle / Sinharaja / Deniyaya
Departure to Sinharaja
Arrival at your hotel
Trekking in the superb tropical forest of Sinharaja, a UNESCO biosphere reserve.
Flora, silence, animals, canopy, orchids will stun you.
Night at your hotel the Rainforest Eco Lodge
Day 3: Deniyaya / Yala
Early morning, walk to observe birds.
Then departure to Yala.
Visit by Jeep 4x4 of the reserve of Yala, famous for its elephants and other wild animals such as bears, deers, wild buffalos, crocodiles, rare birds and many more.

Day 4: Yala / Bundala / Yala
Departure to Bundala.
The Bundala national park is a place where birds spend the winter. Bundala hosts more than 197 species of birds. The largest being the great flamingo.

Day 5: Yala / Udawalawe
Departure to Udawalawe.
You will visit the national park of Udawalawe by Jeep 4x4. This park is probably the most impressive in the country. It hosts 500 elephants and you will be able to see up to 100 at time! The water point located in the middle of the park attracts all animals. Deers, sambars, buffalos, mangooses, bandicoots, monkeys, foxes, crocodiles, wildboars, leopards and snakes can all be observed.

Day 6: Udawalawe / Nuwara Eliya
Departure to Nuwara Eliya
In Nuwara Eliya, you will have the opportunity to visit a tea plantation and factory. You will be shown how tea is cultivated and processed. You will of course be able to have a cup of the famous pure Ceylon tea!.
Transfer to your hotel
In the evening, you will be able to walk in the streets of Nuwara Eliya which was called by the British "Little England".

Day 7: Nuwara Eliya / Horton Plains / Colombo
Departure to Horton Plains
Horton Plains is the only national park situated in the hills region. You will visit the park by foot (3 hours) and be amazed by the landscapes and the wildlife. With a bit of luck you will be able to spot some rare birds.
